CISA and CAFT jointly participated in the 2023 Singapore Fintech Festival!
On November 15, 2023, Singapore FinTech Festival organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) officially opened and was held for three consecutive days at the Singapore Expo.
The theme of this year’s FinTech Festival is “Artificial Intelligence Applications in Financial Services”.
The Central Bank of Cambodia, Cambodia Internet Start-Up Association (CISA) and the Cambodia Association of Finance & Technology (CAFT) jointly participated in this Fintech Festival, meeting with Fintech investors, government policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, technology companies from all over the world. Companies and others conducted fruitful exchanges.
At the Singapore Fintech Festival, the Central Bank of Cambodia signed an MOU with Ant Financial Group to promote cross-border QR code payments through the interconnection of the central bank’s BAKONG network and Alipay’s Alipay+ network.
This means that users of payment companies and banks in Cambodia who have joined the BAKONG system of the Central Bank of Cambodia can scan QR codes to pay at Alipay+ merchants around the world, including merchants in mainland China, through BAKONG’s network.
What’s more, ssers who have joined the Alipay+ payment company can pay at KHQR (Khmer QR code) merchants in Cambodia through the Alipay+ network.
On the sidelines of the FinTech Festival meeting, teams from CISA, CAFT and NBC also visited:
1) Tik Tok, a subsidiary of Byte Dance, discussed the possibility of Tik Tok opening a Tik Tok Shop in Cambodia.
2) VISA, the world’s number one credit card organization, with the theme “Embedded Everywhere The next wave of Fintech”
3) Huawei Singapore R&D Headquarters, and conducted comprehensive and friendly exchanges with Huawei Cloud ecological partners at Huawei Singapore R&D Headquarters.
