Gold Zone Media Bolsters Cambodia’s OOH Standards at MoU Signing

On April 7, 2025, Cambodia’s Ministry of Information and the Cambodian Association of Advertising Media Agencies (CAAMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on commercial advertising management. This marks the first formalized collaboration between the government and the outdoor advertising industry to promote its orderly development. Gold Zone Media, a founding member of CAAMA, attended the signing ceremony.
Amid rapid digital transformation and urbanization, Cambodia’s outdoor advertising sector has grown swiftly, with a sharp rise in urban billboard density. However, challenges like regulatory lag, inconsistent standards, and safety risks have emerged. Since last year, the government hinted at an outdoor alcohol ad ban, though clear guidelines were lacking.
The MoU, signed by Minister Neth Pheaktra and CAAMA, outlines three key measures: enforcing 17 strict rules for alcohol and sensitive ads, assisting local governments in scientifically adjusting billboard placement and density, and bridging businesses and government for permits and quality enhancements. This agreement establishes a clearer, fairer, and sustainable advertising framework.
As CAAMA’s only foreign-backed founding member, Gold Zone Media leads by example. On the PPSHV Expressway, it has applied rigorous standards for billboard safety, placement, and aesthetics, setting a benchmark for the industry.
Moving forward, Gold Zone Media will continue collaborating with CAAMA and the government to shape a professional, safe, and vibrant advertising landscape in Cambodia.
